Lovely! How were the spherical cookies covered? They don't look iced from here. Did you use an egg wash prior to baking or directly paint on colorings and sheen after baking (or do something else)? I ask, because we're all about learning on this site . . . so when I can't figure out the technique(s) used from the photo, I ask for everyone's benefit! 😀

Thanks Julia for the compliments! Before baking the biscuits I colored them with gel food colouring. Three minutes before taking them out of the oven, I brushed the egg on top and put them back in the oven until cooked. When the semi-spheres cooled, I brushed some of them with edible gold powder. And then I decorated them all with royal icing (forgive me for my bad English...)
