Wow, Sam!!! This doll’s house is absolutely outstanding! There is so much work and details. How long did you take to complete it? Congratulations, I love it♥️

Thanks Heather, I did get caught up with all the details and could have kept going but ran out of time. I worked on the house for 2 weeks around work and home life.

So charming! I'm glad I finally got to see it out of its box so I could appreciate its viewability from all angles! Well done!

Can you give us a little more info about the mediums/methods used to create it? For example, how were the roof tiles, curtains, and inside decorations made? TIA.

I tired out lots of techniques with this project.

The exterior walls are flooded, sponged and stencilled with royal icing.  I handcut my own stencil for the roof tiles and stencilled onto baking/parchment paper so they are essentially transfers that were then layered onto the roof cookies.  For the detail tiles I stencilled then dried them on a folded piece of cardboard.

The window frames are gumpaste using an extruder.  The window panes are rice paper and I made edible lace for the curtains. (lace recipe from yenersway.com)

The board is covered with crushed up royal icing.

The Front door, roses and little details were made using commercial moulds.

Everything is edible and the cottage is approx 28cm tall.

Thankyou so much Julia, it was lovely getting to meet you ever so briefly while I was lugging my box around after the show!
