My work is always freehand piped and painted.  All details were done with only glaze (no edible clay or fondant), except for a rice paper sailboat. The white on white shows the dimension better than after it was painted. ~ This was my contribution to the Sweet Summer Collaboration.

I just love the dimension you've created on this piece! When you talk about glaze, could you let me know a little bit more about the medium as it's something I've never used or even considered using. This is truly a beautiful work of art

Thank you, Carol . Forgive me if I mention what you may already know. I can't use RI because of the egg/meringue. Glaze is typically powdered sugar and corn syrup based although some recipes use very little corn syrup. I use pure vanilla so mine is slightly ivory. Since there is no meringue, it doesn't dry as quickly and many people claim you can't achieve detail work with just glaze but I love to be challenged. I've had some luck with pressure piping type work. Thanks for asking and for the kind words.

I love when you post your work in progress so we can see the amazing ways you are able to handle glaze!

Thank you, Manu I wasn't sure anyone would even be interested. You just keep working at it and find new things that work for you. I love to be challenged, even when I fail.
