A rather minimalist honeycomb, but I think the yellow bases are a bit more circular than the previous ones I submitted. I did the hexagons in a tan icing and then handpainted them with gold dust (mixed with vodka so it would dry faster). I did the same with the bees. Then I went back over everything gold and yellow with just the gold dust, because I felt the painted gold was just a bit too flat. The camera doesn't pick it up, but it is a little more "lusterous" than just being painted. The hexagons have two layers of piping, trying to give more depth - again, the photo doesn't show that since it's from a top view. The wings of the bees were outlined in the tan icing and painted in gold. I thinned the gold down more and painted inside the wings. When they were dry, I used a brown food edible marker to make the veins inside the wings and also the antennae.

This entry makes 48 (!!!) circles that you have piped and flooded (so far) for this challenge! Wow!  I am glad you feel like you are improving with all of this practice! I do think these are your best flooded circles yet!

Thank you. It was Spring Break here, so I had a bit of time on my hands.
