Hi! The top ones I flooded with orange and green, then added the other green details to the tops. Then I painted highlights with food color in a darker orange and the darker lines. On the bottom I flooded with all white. Then I painted the carrot part and the green tops with food color "paint". I was experimenting, and ended up preferring the bottom ones. ...they were even carrot cake flavored! Originally Posted by Econlady:

Thanks for sharing. Carrot cake flavored? Is there such a flavoring? Never heard of it.
I used the Carrot Cake Cut out recipe from Flour De Lis. They had lots of real carrots in them and tasted just like real carrot cake! Yummy! Originally Posted by Econlady:

Not sure if you can buy carrot flavor. I used the Carrot Cake Cut out recipe from Flour De Lis. More work than my usual cookies, but totally worth it for this set and so yummy! Originally Posted by ClassicCookies by Parr:

Never heard if that blogger. Checked it out and she has great recipes! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! That was kind of a fluke. I hadn't done much painting with food coloring and used water to dilute and mix the "paints". Now I use clear vanilla. They aren't as shiny now, so I'm pretty sure mixing the food color paste with water was what did that. Just one of those happy mistakes I suppose! Originally Posted by craftsandbaking4me:

Thank you very much! And Thanks for posting the link! I wasn't sure quite how to do that. originally Posted by Dana ~ Dana's Daydreaming Cookies:
