My father has passed on April 13th 2022 because of pneumonias, Covid, aspiration pneumonia and bacterial pneumonia.  His birthday was July the 4th.  I made some cookies for him.

He loved cokes, actually he took only cokes instead of water.  He loved strawberries and chocolate.  He loves GODIVA chocolate especially.  I made strawberries, sliced oranges and chocolate with royal icing (transfer)

He was a businessman and talked almost only about business.  Another business bag with his initial and necktie.

TIP:  "90" and "Happy Birthday" was painted with gold but until the last minute I thought I was going to put silver on.  If I put gold on, I should have piped with light brown colored icing for the letters.

TIP:  The color of coke, I painted with gel color directly from the tube, no dilution with alcohol.  I really don't know the paint is going to dry eventually but it was sticky a few hours after from my food dryer.  To pack the cookie, I placed plastic wrap on the dark part, so that won't mess other parts and my fingers.

What a lovely tribute.  Thank you for sharing all of the details.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  I too lost my father during the pandemic.  It certainly adds another dimension of emotion.  I hope you find peace in your memories (and cookies!)  Much love.

Again, I am so, so sorry for your loss, but what a sweet commemoration of your dad. Thank you as well for the helpful tips you provided, as you always so generously do.

Oh Lisa,  @LisaF  This pandemic ....  and it seems to never end....

Hard....  but we try to smile and laugh a lot, he might like that, too.
