When I think of stained glass, one of my first thoughts is always a Tiffany style lamp. I took a look at the amazing creation by @iSugarfy (aka swissophie) and almost didn’t even make an attempt. But I did a bit more research and found some examples that could be more in line with my skill set. I ended up with a hybrid montage thing (aka an original!) I’m glad I did because the project turned out to be so much fun.
Aesthetically, I would have preferred a more delicate base for the lamp but I didn’t want to worry too much about structural integrity. It’s hefty but it gets the job done.
The photos pretty much show how it was completed. The only thing not immediately apparent is the third dome. I had intended it as a back-up. However, when I went to assemble the actually lamp, I found that the top piece almost entirely covered the bottom piece and I wanted more of it to show. I ended up cutting off the top of it and inserting it inside the bottom piece. It helped elevate the top dome.
Even with the modifications, I’m pleased because this is the closest I will likely get to having a Tiffany lamp. It’s not that I’m saying that my household can’t have nice things but I am because we can’t. There are just too many curious fingers, large dog tails and, well, my husband.

Thank you so much Gabi. I definitely did this one in phases, as time allowed. I was glad it worked out that way. 😘😘❤️
Lovely! What did you use to create the sheen on the colored parts? And what did you airbrush - the black or other areas too?
The sheen comes from a covering of confectioners glaze. The brand I use is from NY Cake. The only airbrushing is the black on the base. The rest of the colors are piped black royal icing for the outline. The colors are hand painted with a mix of food gel and grain alcohol. The glaze was added once the colors dried.
What a beautiful deco piece this lamp will make, Lisa ❤️❤️❤️! What I really love on it is the smaller half-sphere below the main shade acting as support. Fabulous idea !
The gradation and intensity of color on your Tiffany lamp is stunning. (And the top view really is spectacular.) The structure is also cleverly done. It looks as though you could put a wire in the base, and, if the cookie domes were thin enough, I imagine that you could get a soft glow coming through. It may not be the real thing, but it's cheaper than buying your own house to safely admire it in.

And thanks much for the sweet mention !
Thank you so much for your kindness. It is true though that your lamp is spectacular to the point of intimidation! I showed it to a few friends and they wouldn't believe me when I said it was a cookie!!

Thank you so much Christine. I had a lot of fun with this. Subtle illumination was exactly what I was going for. You're right, it is much cheaper than my own home but today is a day I would like one. Actually, I would settle for a closet. I have those but people keep finding me. 😂
