Beautiful! I love how you balanced all the colors and design. I was thinking of making mandala cookies, but it never occured to me to cut it into symmetrical pieces. I was still looking for a larger circle cutter, lol! Good job!

Thank you so much everyone! I have a hard time keeping things symmetrical so this was a new fun challenge for me.

I LOVE all of the patterns and colors of this array!  But I am especially fascinated by how you got your pieces to fit together so well - aligning concentric circles CANNOT be easy!  Do you have a magical non-spreading cookie dough recipe, or did you go to town with your microplane?  Do tell!

I cant see very well   it looks like there isn't a base   sorry     welllllll   whats the size of the cookie     how long did it take to do    lol      this is wonderful

I used a pretty sturdy chocolate cookie dough recipe and scored the cookie... then I baked it until just done and cut the pieces where I'd scored them while they were still kind of hot out of the oven! That worked really well! Even so, there was a little bit of spread.

There are 16 pieces - 8 in the middle and 8 on the outer edge. I used a dinner plate to sketch the circle and then my biggest circle cookie cutter for the center. I did all of the cutting under one of those pastry mats you use for making pies

Hoosier Sugar Cookies scores!!! They line up so perfectly, I thought they were all larger "pizza pie" shaped slices. Now I am even more impressed! I like the interweaving of the designs, like a complex quilt pattern.

Hope you don't mind me asking questions, feel free to ignore me if you don't want to reveal your secrets. Did you score it to make a guide for cutting, or to help cut it off after baking? How deep do you score it, and do you actually cut into the top of the dough, or just make an impression? Also, did you score the larger outside edge and bake it with an outer border, or cut it off before baking?

Sure, I don't mind questions! I scored it pretty deep and then baked it all together in the circle. Then, I cut all the way through the cookie when they were just out of the oven. There's a picture of the "before" baking situation on my instagram, @hoosiersugar
