As lovely as any Monet or Van Gogh I've ever seen in a gallery and yours are edible. Plus, you don't have to cut off your own ear and shoot yourself out in a field to become famous, your cookies will achieve that all on their own. I would love to see you have a tutorial website for your work. I'm happy to pay for tutorials on work this lovely. I'm normally a cake decorator and follow mostly cake sites but the work I see on this site astounds me. I'd hate to say it to my fellow cake decorators but I don't know if I've actually come across any cake yet that I've compared to art work of the great masters. Decorated cakes are a different type of beauty.

Hello Basket Pam, and yes, No ears were harmed in the making of this cookie, nor was anyone shot! Interesting isn't it - the difference between cookies and cakes - both have the same inate skills - the ability to deal with mediums such as fondant, Royal Icing, gumpaste, tools of all sorts, shapes and sizes - one just happens to be on a (normally) flat surface and for one+ person, the other for size and visual appeal I suppose you could say. I learnt cake decorating skills at my mothers knee (I lost her to cancer about 30 years ago tho) and after Pinning hundreds of cakes found a stunning cookie and was hooked !! Although I enjoy the smaller, more conventional cookies, I do so enjoy doing 3D or texture work, as well as handpainting on cookies, so I will be gravitating more and more to this in the future. To put me in those Artists category is a wonderful compliment. Thank you.
Remember this site is a wonderful way to show your own work too Don't be shy.
