Pug on a Wall

A fun project that was completely new to me...dog cookies! These were made to be a gift from one of my clients who wanted to surprise her friend with pug cookies. This became a fun challenge as I've never made a pug (or dog) cookie before. Just wish I had had more time!!! I can't tell you how many times I've said that! Ugh...

I found an inspiration iStock photo from which to create a pug cookie. The eyes were particularly difficult for me to get the dimension right. I'm not satisfied with them but know that practice will help me in the future. I liked the idea of showing a wall with paws and then the head of a pug looking over the wall. The paws on top of the walls didn't come out as well as I would have liked but there wasn't enough time to make more cookies to do what I wanted.

Thankfully, my client was overjoyed with the result . She later told me that just watching her friend open the cookies was completely delightful! She said that her friend exclaimed over each cookie as she unpackaged them. Wish I could see more of those kinds of reactions but I'm always so happy when I hear about it later.
