This was intended to be a week “off” so to speak for food delivery cookies. I felt like I had hit a wall creatively, emotionally, etc. and needed to pick something easy so I could finish with minimal effort. (I calculated that I have made over 2900 donated cookies so far and thought a break was in order.) I decided on a seashell. The cutter gave me a great shape, I colored the icing a very slight ivory and the cookies indeed looked like seashells. Then I started fussing. I decided the cookies needed more. I tried some wet on wet designs, royal icing embellishments, pearl additions and luster dust in every conceivable crevice and direction. I didn’t like anything so I got out the airbrush. Actually, I got out my new airbrush. I unfortunately missed the opportunity to buy one of Julia’s @Julia M. Usher airbrushes and have been using substandard models. I decided to upgrade and somewhat randomly picked an airbrush that seemed versatile. It came with minimal instruction. I put all the pieces together as I have done with less expensive models and got to work. It was sooo powerful. Keep in mind, at this point I was still fussing with the design of the cookie. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, what colors to use or how to place them. I quickly had a series of disastrous results. And the spray was getting everywhere. Then the hose popped off of the brush. The noise was so loud – it sounded like a gunshot or an explosion. The full airbrush flew out of my hand, the dogs went crazy and my husband knocked over his wine glass. Full chaos. And the cookies still weren’t finished. I ended up using my other airbrush, which is on its last legs, and after another series of failed designs came up with the one pictured. Once I was finished, it took another three hours to clean up the kitchen. I eventually discovered that the PSI on the compressor was too high. There were no instructions included or on the company website on how to adjust it. I had to search the internet for assistance and eventually found a video from some guy in Australia who explained what to do. So much for my week off. But I do like the photo!😂
Lisa, you are amazing!!! Murphy’s Law😩. Oh, so you want a weekend off...? You have made so many people happy in this awesome and so generous giveaway. You have prepared so many cookies and each week with a different theme, thank you so much. They have felt loved and taken into account, and I’m sure, so grateful. Your sea shells are beautiful! Your description of the explosion is so vivid!! You have a great hubby too!
You landed on a great design...perhaps "exploded" is a better description! 😹 lol
Lol. Exploded is definitely the right word @E. Sherwood. Some of the airbrush color got on one of the dogs. He's snow white like a polar bear so it really stood out. Collateral damage!😂

God bless you, dear friend!♥️
thank you for your kindness my dear friend @Heather Bruce Sosa. We survived all of the drama and here's hoping for smoother cookie delivery in the weeks ahead. In a way, it probably added some much needed excitement to our quarantined lives! 😂❤️😘
Oh dear, that must have been a shock!... But your shells look beautiful, Lisa !! ❤️😘@LisaF
Yes Gabi @Icingsugarkeks. It created quite the drama in the household! But I think we probably needed a shake-up to our routine - I just didn't think it would end up being so messy!! 😂😂😘
I love these cookies!!! So simple yet so gorgeous. I love to read through the comments (yours are always so entertaining), there’s a world to discover behind a picture of some cookies!
