This project was very challenging but also very enjoyable at the same time.I used once again Julia Usher's recipe for cookie dough you can find it here Julia’s cookie dough.  As base I irregular cut piece of gingerbread dough, baked, covered partially with smashed and blended cookies & coloured brown dark colour. For tombstones I use also baking sheet paper crumpled so after I applied stiff icing just lightly preesed my crumpled paper on and I let it to dry, after lightly airbrushed and stenciled crucks &RIP,on second one I used bat stenciled waferpaper and black coloured gingerbread frame waferpaper crowl,1 gingerbread forgotten leave to give a bit dark atmosphere and some kind misterious  filings.Gingerbread Key hanged on waferpaper rope I created very simple 3  cutted waferpaper stripes I make with water we turn them together & carefully pass the key .

I would like to give more attention at how I create Lantern windows. So some of the side piece I baked on Texture silicone sheet so after baking I get straight beautiful texture just toned with a bit colour these I leted without isomalt in,I glued from inside waferpaper skeleton and witch cutted with metal cutting press die maschine.I pined many photos in progress so you can see windows with poured yellow isomalt straight on silicone texture sheet so again we get great texture also on isomalt window! Then when is as rock we can turn it and stenciled with stif icing skeleton head.I let it to dry and after I stamped and airbrushed other side.Fitting after was easy just small base of lantern stenciled with icing as stones floor and glued sides with medium stif icing. The top of lantern iced with fluid icing and after dried stenciled and airbrushed. On the top of topper half hemisphere baked n hemisphere silicone mold and gingerbread skeleton hand brushed lightly with white colour. The tree trunk baked on carbonboard rolls from paper covered with allumium foil and baked 2 halfs, iced, stenciled like a tree texture ad I used it for to put down the adorable angel, just like the sign that there is not all just dark and bad but there is light hope and good too.c3f77b28-7588-4988-9af7-a853cf5f2909FotoJet - 2022-09-28T122526.924.jpg2FotoJet - 2022-09-28T122239.626.jpg1FotoJet - 2022-09-28T122722.169.jpg3FotoJet - 2022-09-28T123307.796.jpg5

So very unique Petra! 🖤🤍🖤

Thank you very much dear Evelin @Evelindecora,I was sad because I couldn't capture whole project in one picture,so I decided to make a short video and again couldn't turn it round round 😂

Congrats on your fourth entry Petra!

There’s a lot of work in this entry but I am sure you had a lot of fun and your unique style and creativity stand out.

3-D cookies in general are so difficult to capture, so I loved watching the video, thank you for that. By watching the video we could enjoy every detail of your creation but also the two 3-D contoured cookies (top of lantern and trunk) that you incorporated in this stunning Halloween scene.

The top of your lantern (the iced hemisphere with the skeleton hand molded cookie on top of it) could have been an entry itsef, and I can tell the same for the trunk, iced, stenciled and decorated with the molded angel and the molded cross (Are they gingerbread cookies?

Beside the 3-D contoured cookies which were the only requirement of this challenge there’s so much more: the gingerbread panel of the lantern are embossed by baking them on textured silicone mats and you used the molded technique as in the gingerbread key, in the gingerbread frame cookie, in the gingerbread leaves and in the skeleton hand. I wonder if you also contoured the gingerbread skeleton hand?

Thank you for sharing every detail of your entry in the comments, that was very helpfull. And you even found the time to share a mini tutorial! Thanks, and thank you for participating.

Maybe I disappointed you but no skeletons, hand, angel are molded gingerbread cookies.Have to say that it is very difficult to keep especially skeleton hand in perfect condition, has to be on something so it doesn't lost the shape, will be not broken,or destroyed because of huge humidity, so has to be stored very well anyway. Have also to say  after burned small candle in the lantern  of  started melt isomalt windows a bit.I must showed more techniques I feel that right, not to show just part of it. Actually was my vision as complete project. Thank you dear Manu for your time to comment my creation❤❤❤

How could you ever disappoint me! 😄😄😄

I was not sure about the angel, that’s why I asked if it was gingerbread. What is it made of? I read the skeleton hand was gingerbread, so I thought you used a mold… did you made it without using a mold? Wow!

(Yes, isomalt and humidity don’t go well together. I experienced the same with a lantern I made years ago. After a couple of days the isomalt panes started to melt because of the high humidity . Unfortunately at that time I didn’t have the edible glaze to spray on the isomalt panes and preserve them from humidity, nor I could find it in the country where I was currently living. It is a product by PME)

Oh, I see. We both got lost in translation, Petra. I misunderstood your previous reply. 😊
