I love the Springerle cookies and have bought several wooden patterns for them, but just can't seem to get them to turn out!

They do take a little practice, I  use the recipe from House on the Hill,  it is on their website.  I  love it.. I have found that if I  add a little extra flour it works better for me. If  you  have questions feel free to ask and I  will  share more tips I have learned..,

Never get tired of seeing these cookies Teri!! They're just gorgeous. I've always wondered if they taste as good as they look (obviously, I've never had the pleasure of holding a Springerle cookie in my hot little hand otherwise I'd taste it. Lol).

Hello Teri, I love these! Are the hard to do. Do you mind if I ask where you gotyou Octoberfest mold, or was it antique? I never tasted these kind of cookies are you able to describe them. Sorry I know that is a very hard question, but I am always tempted to by the molds, but a little scared too.

Thank you,

Sandra

This mold is from House on the Hill,  they don't sell directly to the public any more, maybe contact them on their website and ask who is selling it for them.  The size is 6" it makes  quite a cookie... I  use House on the Hill  Springerle recipe , Truly don't know how any could be better. Give them a try, took me some practice, but worth it. I feel you need a few tips I have learned,  don't hesitate to ask..

Yes, Teresa, they are imprinted with a mold.

 Dziękuję

Your welcome

I also use that recipe. I leave them out to dry overnight before baking them. Last year I was rushed and only left them out to dry 3 hours and they did not rise as high.  I use anise oil in the cookies and lay a sprinkle of anise seed on cookie sheets as I place cookies on them.  That's how my family like them.
