The Butterflies Have Landed - on Cookies!

I absolutely love lots of variety in one set of cookies! Those who know me are not surprised .  The butterfly theme and colors tie the set together into a cohesive grouping.  I've seen the most gorgeous butterfly cookies over the past few years using the wet-on-wet technique and am awed by the artists' talent in achieving such remarkable detail. This is not a developed skill in my little cookie box...yet...but I hope to continue to learn and improve.

I wasn't given much direction for this set and built the set around a cookie that my customer particularly liked. It was one I had designed a couple of years ago (lower left hexagon with the stenciling and brush embroidery). I was thrilled to hear that the designs were a hit!! That always puts a smile on my face...no matter who the recipient is .

Like you, no doubt, I love to challenge myself with new and different designs and hope that I achieved some deviation from the flowery work that I tend to gravitate to using.

❤️❤️❤️

What a spectacular set, dear Carol @Cookies Fantastique !!! So many techniques and such variety, and yet they all definitely belong to the same set! Masterfully done, my dear friend. I just LOVE each one of them. If I had to choose a favorite, which is really hard, I think it would be the top right one, because of those little white flowers, which you must have made with a star tip? They look a little like tulips... An amazing set, my sweet friend ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!!!

Thank you so much my dear friend, Sonja, @iSugarfy (aka swissophie)!! Yes indeed, I used the star tip on that cookie and just loved how the sheen came to life on this cookie more than the others. I love the teal color but wanted some depth as well as the pearlized effect. You're so sweet to comment!! I hope you are doing well...no doubt you're keeping very busy ❤️❤️❤️

I like the colors you have chosen for this a lot! They look really nice together. And of course the cookies themselves do look great as well! Love the one at the top right! I think it's my fav one from these ♥

These are just beautiful Carol! I have that frame mold but cannot get it to work with fondant (too shallow). Did you use sugar lace?

Thank you dear Ashlee @Ashlee McCabe!! Yes, I love that mold. I did use fondant. I put a very thin layer in the mold brushed with cornstarch and rolled the fondant roller over it. Then I popped it in the freezer for about 5 minutes and it released really well. To get the color definition I airbrushed it gold and then used the Rolkem gold and dabbed at the top of the mold very carefully so that only the top of the mold got the extra gold color . It is a very shallow mold!!! Hope you give this idea a shot next time you use it ❤️

Thanks for that tip Carol! I haven't had much luck with it in the past, but I'll have to give it another try because it's a beautiful mold
