If you hid them, I would have to find new elements to use (maybe a carrot or a celery stick)! hehe Oh, no...I'm inspired again! <3 These were super fun, I tried to wrap the cookie and decorate all around and leave the cookie as the humble center but very under stated. I'm so glad you enjoyed them.

Another entry!  Just fabulous.  I am VERY intrigued by the idea of painting wafer paper with royal icing! If you care to share your process with us, I am all ears!

I'd love to.

The thing about using RI as paint is just watering it down a bit and then racing to get it all painted before it dries out (so mix enough of what ever color). The reason this is important is (just like in other non-sugar mediums) there could be a line where you left off if it partially drys (less smooth).

The rice paper will curl if you put any moister on it. This is just what it does. So use it to your advantage, it will stop curling when it drys. The curl gives nice shape if you're making flower petals.

If both sides get wet (at the same time) it will disintegrate. So when you paint, only get one side wet. If you don't want curl "glue" one side down with RI and wait till it drys, then you can paint the other side.

Either side works (smooth shiny or bumpy) to paint on, so I choose the side I want for the effect I'd like. Cookie Monster was painted with more RI on the bumpy side, Woman was painted with less RI on the smooth side. Domo more RI on the bumpy side. Side note, fondant stays wet so the curling effect will last longer then you might want when using in combination with rice paper, so use the drying powder to counter act this effect.

The inside of Domo's mouth is just marker, same with the inside of Cookie Monster's mouth. Be careful with the pens, too much pressure for too long will disinigrate the paper.

Well, any other questions and I'd be happy to answer but that's a "quick" how to.

Donna, I use rice paper and ordered it on Amazon for like $6 for a package I wont use up in 10 years! The first thing I did was open it and experiment. I'm still learning but I must say for every mistake, I learn a new thing and have more victories than defeats! hehe
