For the round butterfly cookies I used royal icing transfer with silver lustre dust, stamped wafer paper, painting for the wood planks, and sugar pearls and crystal sugar.
I tried the burlap effect I learned from Dolce Sentire and royal icing chain from SweetAmbs.

As Julia says they are royal icing transfer. I made six of them just in case and broke two. They are extremely fragile!! Under the RI transfer are wafer paper wings.
I love the keys! You always make me surprised because you always try new skills and keep evolving although I thought your cookies had already reached perfection when I saw your cookies for the first time. Just amazing!!!

Gorgeous set! Your chainwork is impeccable, and I am in awe of your butterfly wings. Please tell me you made a lot of extras to insure against breakage, because I can't imagine successfully transferring those onto a cookie without breaking more than a few!

Thank you! Yes, of course I made extras. I made six of them and broke two just when I peeled them off from acetate. After I took photos, I broke one...
Just gorgeous. I, like everyone else, love those butterflies!! And I love the idea of putting wafer paper behind the royal icing...now that is a wafer paper idea I can get behind!! And your colors are always so gorgeous and unique. Really amazing, beautiful set.
