Tami - these are so pretty. But what technique was used for the flowers? They look handpainted, but wanted to check. Thanks.
Thank you for such a sweet compliment.
I used a springerle cookie mold with my sugar cookie. Once I had the mold design on my cookie, I placed the cookie in the freezer hoping it would maintain the mold design. Since it was a sugar cookie, I did loose a little of the design during baking, but honestly not much. I put a very, very thin coat of very thinned down icing over the entire cookie. Using one of your YouTube videos, I then painted the "raised" design with a combination of luster dusts and gel coloring. I hope that all makes sense.

Thanks for the explanation, Tami. A great combination of techniques. I've always been hesitant to cover embossed cookies with icing (I usually gild them) for fear of losing the relief, but these look great!
