By now, you've likely seen Santa winking at you in our banner for at least a few days. Normally, I introduce our site artist as soon as I post her/his art, but the hoopla surrounding my large Thanksgiving gathering got the better of me this past week. I am finally back in Missouri after being away for the holiday and am just now beginning to get caught up on my normal Cookie Connection obligations. My apologies to @Maggy Morales, our very talented December 2024 site artist, for my delayed announcement.

Anywho . . . I trust you can see why @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist, and I chose Maggy's work for this month! Her Santa and kids are so festive and fun, and absolutely exude the Christmas spirit! Honestly . . . how sweet are the little boy and his dog awaiting Santa's arrival (with varying degrees of alertness - LOL)?!

Maggy, congrats on your featured art, and many thanks for contributing so many delightful cookies to this site since joining in 2019. And, as always, Gabi, what would we do without your whimsical graphic design touches?! Your animated wink makes Maggy's Santa all the more magical!

Since I haven't yet done an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview with Maggy, my plan is to start one just as soon as the busy Christmas season is over, with the aim to post the final interview in January! I can't wait to hear about Maggy's cookie journey, and I'm sure you're eager to learn more about it too. In the meantime, please take a look at Maggy's bio and social media links below to get better acquainted with her and her fabulous work.

Maggy Morales Headshot

Maggy Morales is the artist behind The Sweet Spot Cookies. Over the years, she has cultivated a deep and genuine passion for cookie decorating with royal icing, turning this art into her true calling. Her family, especially her children, have been a constant source of inspiration and motivation throughout this sweet journey. It all began with the simple desire to bake cookies for them, an act of love that blossomed into a meaningful artistic project.

Maggy has had the honor of sharing her work on many notable platforms, such as American Cake Decorating (which featured her “Santa’s Secrets Cookie” tutorial), D’licious Magazine, and Cake Collaborator Magazine. Her talent has also led her to participate in various competitions, where she has showcased her unique style. She has been recognized with a Gold Award in Cake Champions' gingerbread cookie structure category (2023), a Gold Award in the second edition of Cake Star International Online Cake Competition (2022), and a Gold Star in the royal icing category in the first edition of the Cake Star competition (2021).

More of Maggy’s work can be seen on Instagram and Facebook, and, of course, also in her Cookie Connection portfolio.

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post like this one and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through all of 2024 and 2025, thanks to @Icingsugarkeks, but she is currently at work on material for 2026. So don't hesitate to submit your cookies at any time. Please also remember that Icingsugarkeks is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so feel free to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.
