Hello, everyone! This is my first post, so I apologize if this should belong in a different thread…

I have done several farmer's markets in the fall, spring and summer: no matter what the weather is (rainy, chilly, windy, etc.), my cookies always slightly melt in their heat-sealed cellophane baggies within an hour or so! Of course, it’s definitely worse when the sun is shining on them or it’s hot, but it even happens when I least expect it.

Any advice on the best way to prevent all my royal icing cookies from melting at a hot, summer farmer's market? Even keeping them in a box/cooler, they seem to slightly melt . I’m not sure if it’s that I’m sealing them too tight in the baggies…or this just an inevitable issue.  Thank you all!

Sounds like you're steaming the cookies, because the bags are too tight. I wouldn't heat-seal them, personally, and I'd then keep them in the shade, or shaded somehow.
