When you want to start up a cookie business, how do you go about doing it when you dont have a lot of photos to show off. How do you get people to buy your cookies when you dont have a huge portfolio???

Great question - I'm eager to hear what others have to say! (My advice: Take photos of everything you do from here on out! You'll be surprised by how rapidly you can build a portfolio.)
Another idea is to get your product in public view to expand your customer base. For instance, consider a wedding or craft show, or farmer's market.
Amanda--I would also encourage you to donate a few trays of cookies to select charity events (e.g., silent auctions). You can showcase your decorating skills by decorating them to match the theme. Having run a number of charity events I can tell you this is an excellent way of getting some visibility and future orders.
But, be very choosy about which events.
Good luck!
