Perhaps you can identify this month's site artist just from all of the shimmer and glimmer in our banner and backdrop?! Any guesses?!

Bingo! It's none other than the queen of glitter, beads, and crystals, the very talented @TAMMY HOLMES!

I just love the combination of rich hues and gold luster paint that Tammy used to elevate the pumpkins and gourds now gracing our site's most focal spots! How regal! Here's a closer look so you can fully appreciate Tammy's fine work:

Congrats to Tammy, and thank you, as always, to Gabi (aka @Icingsugarkeks) for taking Tammy's work and skillfully morphing it to fit the very particular constraints of our banner and backdrop. And how about her added floating leaf touch?! So eye-catching! I'd also like to take a moment to wish Gabi a happy birthday (yes, October 31 is the day) and to let her know how much I appreciate her support of this site. 🎂

Back to Tammy! She's a wonderful cookie artist, so it's no surprise that this feature is not a first for her. She most recently appeared as our site artist in September 2023 when I had the opportunity to conduct a fascinating Cookier Close-up interview with her. To get to know Tammy and her work, I encourage you to explore that interview, along with her bio and social media links below. I am also pleased to report that you'll soon have the opportunity to get to know Tammy even better, as she's slated to be one of our featured Watch-Learn-Create challenge guests in 2025. I am so excited to share what she'll be teaching, but mum's the word for now. Thank you again, Tammy, for contributing to Cookie Connection in so many ways over the years; we are lucky to have you here!

Tammy's HeadshotTammy Holmes is a professional cookie artist who currently resides in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Heavily influenced by florals, fashion, and abstract art, she enjoys creating fantasy and beauty out of even the most basic cookie shapes. Best known for her floral snake cookies and intricately decorated skull cookies, Tammy’s aesthetic often involves lots of layers and many mediums. Watercolor, embossed fondant, wafer paper . . . it’s all about the excessive layering with her designs. In 2012, Tammy took her love of decorating Christmas cookies with friends and family to a professional level. In the years since, she has perfected her skills to create her own unique designs. Tammy is thankful for the friendships she’s made with fellow cookiers and is happy to be part of the cookie decorating community, which brings joy to so many people.

More of Tammy’s work can be seen on Instagram and TikTok, and, of course, also in her Cookie Connection portfolio.

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post like this one and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through all of 2024 and 2025, thanks to @Icingsugarkeks, but she is currently at work on material for 2026. So don't hesitate to submit your cookies at any time. Please also remember that Icingsugarkeks is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so feel free to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.
