It's now my new favorite time of the month - the time for posting site artwork! In case you forgot, April's Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #13 honoree is Allegra Crea, whose charming pink and purple daisies are gracing the site's banner and backdrop as we speak!

For the longest time, I thought Allegra Crea was the name of one person, but as it turns out, "Allegra Crea" means "create cheerfully" in Italian and is the online moniker for the cookie decorating duo of Ivana Parisi and Giusi Urso - friends, collaborators, and co-originators of La Bottega dei Dolci Doni ("Workshop of Sweet Gifts") in Sicily, Italy. Both devoted and very busy moms, Ivana and Giusi first became friends through their oldest children. In 2013, they further cemented that friendship by discovering a shared passion for decorating with royal icing.

And how did they discover that shared passion, you ask?! Well now, you'll just have to wait until the grand reveal of their in-depth Cookier Close-up interview, coming in a couple of weeks! In addition to answering that question, Ivana and Giusi will share views on the Italian cookie decorating market, cookie preferences, and trends.

Also, if you missed Challenge #13, but would like your own cookie art to be considered for use on the site after our challenge winners have run their course (by the end of 2016), I would love to see it at any time. Guidelines for submitting cookie art can be found here.

***** UPDATE *****

At long last, Allegra Crea's Close-up is here!
