Admittedly, this month's site art is pretty unrelated to September (it was originally created for Mother's Day). But I've long been a fan of our September site artist's richly layered and luxurious work, so Gabi (aka @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist) and I thought it was high time to feature this talented cookier! And who might be responsible for the cookie content in the gorgeous site art shown below?

Ahh, the banner's lower right corner no doubt gave away our featured artist - but, if you missed that hint, it's none other than @TAMMY HOLMES! Thank you, Tammy, for beautifying our site this month! And thanks as well to Gabi for adjusting Tammy's original cookie images posted here to fit the site's particular banner and backdrop dimensions and other viewing requirements.

In addition to being known for texture-intensive cookies, Tammy loves edible crystals and has built much of her TikTok stardom around them. Just check out her TikTok videos to see! She's compiled a rather impressive collection of both videos and followers! You'll, of course, have an opportunity to learn more about Tammy in her upcoming Cookier Close-up interview. But first, I owe you the interview with our July site artist (@Cookies on Cambridge aka Lori Todhunter). As an FYI, Lori's answers are in, and I'll start the posting of her interview this weekend, with an aim to have it online by mid to end of September. Shortly after that, I'll begin Tammy's interview.

Housekeeping notes aside, please check out Tammy's bio and explore her social media links (below) while waiting for what's sure to be an interesting interview.

Tammy's HeadshotTammy Holmes is a professional cookie artist who currently resides in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Heavily influenced by florals, fashion, and abstract art, she enjoys creating fantasy and beauty out of even the most basic cookie shapes. Best known for her floral snake cookies and intricately decorated skull cookies, Tammy’s aesthetic often involves lots of layers and many mediums. Watercolor, embossed fondant, wafer paper . . . it’s all about the excessive layering with her designs. In 2012, Tammy took her love of decorating Christmas cookies with friends and family to a professional level. In the years since, she has perfected her skills to create her own unique designs. Tammy is thankful for the friendships she’s made with fellow cookiers and is happy to be part of the cookie decorating community, which brings joy to so many people.

More of Tammy’s work can be seen on Instagram and TikTok, and, of course, also in her Cookie Connection portfolio.

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post like this one and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through January 2024, so I am specifically looking for art for February 2024 and beyond. Please also remember that @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist, is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so do not hesitate to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.

Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!

Hi @TAMMY HOLMES.  These are pretty blue colored cookies.  Typhoons are coming to Japan continuously and we rarely see blue sky.  Your cookies are very beautiful and the color blue reminds me the beautiful sky after typhoons, that reminds me we are going to have good things after rough things.   Thank you for gorgeous cookies and congrats!

Gabi @Icingsugarkeks as usual, it is enjoyable to look at the banner and that's something I am looking forward to see, how you make them are just so great.  Thank you.
