Hello , I was wondering if  there is any substance that could be used as a primer on sugar paste or fondant, so when I print on it the color will stay original without bleeding inside it or getting darker when being refrigerated or left in room temp?

Would appreciate any advice on the matter.

Thank you

Hi, I haven't had too much trouble with fondant changing color, other than some reds and purples, or if the piece is left out in direct light for an incredibly long time. I now use no-fade red and purple coloring to fix the first issue. I also don't refrigerate fondant unless I box the product with it on it; then there is no darkening or change in the color whatsoever.

Oh, I see now you are talking about printing on fondant, not working/kneading coloring into it (as I answered above). I've never printed on fondant, other than by stamping liqua-gel coloring onto it. And, again, I have never had bleeding or fading issues with that technique if the cookies were eaten in reasonable period of time - or even if stored a few months for "show" purposes.
