Wondering why this product only seems to be available for sale in the UK. Is there some US food law that is prohibiting them here? What fun it would be to add metallic markers into the decorating arsenal.

I've purchased them from Amazon here in the US, but I'm not sure that guarantees they're approved by the FDA.
Thanks Julia, I did purchase a few from Amazon and it looks like delivery will not be until after January 1 so I guess it ships from the UK!
I'll try to post my results in January even though the holidays will be over!

Yeah, I think they ship directly from Rainbow Dust - which, of course, raises the question about how they comply with food safety regs in the US. I've tried to get behind this by calling various manufacturers in the past, but have never gotten clear answers.

Oh, sorry - let me clarify . . . I've tried asking about this in the past, but I have no active, ongoing inquiries. I basically never got straight answers from those I asked, so I gave up. I doubt I will hear anything more unless I pursue this with renewed vigor, and I don't have any immediate plans to do so.
