Hey, all! You may have noticed my site art hanging out in our banner and backdrop right now. I know, I know, I didn't want to cast the spotlight on me again, but our lovely @Icingsugarkeks made a kajillion* banner/backdrop variations using these same cookies when she made the first version back in 2021. (*Okay, I exaggerate. Maybe it wasn't a kajillion, but it was more than a few!) And because things are so busy now with the close of my competition, the upcoming release of a new online course, and trying to get all of that done before vacation (yay!) in three day's time, it was most expedient just to use my own stuff. After all, everyone here should know me by now, which means me having to gather one less bio and headshot! LOL!

That said, I did post one of the variations that wasn't used before, so hopefully the banner and backdrop won't look too familiar. I especially love Gabi's waving flag treatment, which was another good reason to use this particular banner:

Thanks again to Gabi for her marvelous work that helps keep our site in tune with the latest holidays and seasons! I so appreciate you, Gabi!

And, everyone else, I promise you won't see my art again for a very long while - that's because Gabi is also a workhorse, and already has nearly all of the 2025 site art lined up, with just a couple of exceptions! She's wonderful, isn't she?! πŸ‘πŸ»

Anywho, be sure to read the footnote below about how you can get your art into these coveted spots. We do have one or two open spots in 2025, as I mentioned, and we are always working ahead.

In case I don't have a chance to send well wishes on the actual holiday, have a great Fourth of July (if you celebrate). And stay tuned for my upcoming Cookier Close-up interview with our June 2024 site artist, @Dita. I intend to start her interview questions after vacation and to post the completed interview sometime in August. I am so eager to learn more about this talented and prolific cookier, as I am sure you are too!

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post like this one and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through most of 2025, thanks to @Icingsugarkeks, but she is currently seeking work for September 2025, November 2025, and all of 2026. So don't hesitate to submit your cookies at any time. Please also remember that Icingsugarkeks is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so feel free to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.

Sorry Julia, I only came back to the site today. Thank you for your kind words! And I hope you have a nice vacation (if you still have one?!)   @Julia M. Usher

I just got back last night - unfortunately, I discovered a flood in my basement when I returned, so vacation came to an abrupt end. I am now getting wet drywall removed and floors repaired. I must say, it's a bit of a nightmare.

OMG!!!!! The strength you gained on vacation is gone again straight away...!! I'm so sorry for you! I hope it doesn't take that long and that it can be restored.

Water, fire and wind can cause so much damage... @Julia M. Usher

Our eldest son lost everything in the great flood in the Ahr Valley in July 2021, really everything. The entire apartment with all its inventory, all important documents, the car and almost his own life! It was so terrible, but we were so glad he was still alive!! It was also an awful lot of work afterwards.
