Mother's Day Sunflower Flower Pot Cookie

1) I bake and decorate my flower, leaves, and "flower pot top" cookies. I bake my “flower pot top” cookie with a hole in the center and brown sprinkles to simulate "dirt."

2) After my "sunflower flower pot" and leaf cookies have been decorated and dried, I attach the flower and leaf cookies to a straw (using royal icing) and set aside to dry.

3) After I have decorated my flower pot top (leaving a defined hole in the center), I set it aside to dry

4) I place a dowel inside my flower pot mug.

5) I place a "flower pot top" cookie hole over and down the dowel until it meets to top of my flower pot mug.

6) I place the bottom of the straw (of my "pink flower pot" cookie) over the dowel and slide it into place on top of my "flower pot top."

Perfect Mother's Day, spring birthday or bridal shower.
