I am originally from Germany, but have been living in the US for more than 20 years now. I work as a full time nurse, I am a mom, have bunches of pets, and a big garden. We've always baked in my family, particularly my paternal grandmother who loved to bake Christmas cookies and big, layered birthday cakes. I began to make decorated cookies as a Christmas gifting solution back when I was a low-income single mom, working and going to school. It's such a joy to bake for people, especially with the added element of artistry. I've developed a passion in trying to create something special each and every time. People have asked me to bake for their special occasions and I try to oblige as time permits. I am very much inspired by all the all the baking artists here, sharing their knowledge and endorsing creativity.
