I'm a house wife. I enjoy doing arts & crafts, cooking and baking.

I remember when I first got married (2010) I had NO cooking skills what's so ever!!!  I had to do something to learn and be able to cook for my husband or else we were gonna die of HUNGER!!! LOL  So, I decided to search videos online and little by little I started to make my own version recipes and guess what? I became good at it. YES!!! I can cook!!!

My husband can not believe that not knowing how to even broil water (sarcasm), l learned so quick. Now I can cook Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Vegetarian, Vegan, Mexican of course , bake cakes and desserts.

Every time I cook something new he asks me (in spanish) "Es de la cocina de la chaparrita?" (Is it from Shorty's Kitchen?), he calls me Chaparrita (Shorty). So I decided to name my facebook page: La Cocina de la Chaparrita, where I post most of my dishes. 

But a few months ago I experienced the magic of cookie decorating and I LOVED IT!!! 

It's amazing! Everything I enjoy doing in one (art and bake). How great is that? I know I'm still in a beginners level and I need a looooot of practice but I hope someday I can make it to the TOP TEN.

I'm glad I logged in to this site, because I know I will learn alot from all of you and maybe let go of my fears and start giving some cookie decorating lessons soon. Crossing my fingers.

The 1st. cookies I made. I gave them as a thankful gesture to all the doctors and nurses that took care of my husband in the hospital after 3 surgeries in 2 weeks. They LOVED them and thanked me because they had never received a thank you gift from their patients.
