Best Cookie Memory
I was deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2015 and we worked 7 days a week. On Friday and Sunday we had the mornings off until noon. I made friends with the Italian Security Element because the had a kitchen on base. I procured kilos of butter and eggs from the Afghans and my husband and friends shipped me baking ingredients. What started as small batches of 7-8 dozen turned into 600 cookies that I gave away to US, NATO forces and our Afghan interpreters.
