Thanks so much! It's painted sugar cookies. I made a cookie frame (inspired by the photo with the window pain design) and layered the cookies (cut and baked separately) into the frame. Then painted. It's my first try at this (which will be the case with most things because this is a new medium for me) but I learned a lot with it.

Gosh - it wasn't until you updated that I realised the owl was a cookie too! Fabulous painting! Enjoy your new art form - you obviously love it!
Really? I was a bit stressed-out trying to get it from my mind to the cookie! And the entire time I was wishing for your advice Rebecca! Yankee Girl, I started with a sketch (which grew into the backdrop seen) and then I cut out each petal and leaf and palm fawn (after freezing the rolled-out dough like Rebecca told me to). The frame was cooked longer to make it more sturdy and give a color varriation. Then it was just a matter of putting it all together (over and over). and painting it.
