I made this cookie for my friend Alda.
I am sure I end up with this idea because I was so drawn to the beautiful cookie posted by @VictoryO last week.

The design is mine, I doodled flowers and a butterfly around the name of my friend trying to fit everything in a heart shape. The heart is handcut and it is quite big as this was my first time at this kind of technique and I wanted to keep it easy. I liked so much the contrast between the white royal icing and the dark chocolate cookie but, as it was difficult to trace the sketch on the cookie, I flooded it with pink RI, this time inspired by the beautiful butterflies of Rocío @Little Wonderland

I wanted the cutwork embroidery effect but not so traditional, my design makes me think more to a tattoo.

••••••••••••••••••••••

One day after I posted this clip I am noticing I put the wrong date on the picture! "Nov 2015". I don't know why I made this mistake. I made this cookie three days ago. These days last year I had just found out that the icing on the decorated cookies was royal icing and not glaze, and that I could use meringue powder rather than egg whites to prepare it. I had found Julia M Usher's videos on different consistencies of royal icing and, weirdest thing, not yet knew about Cookie Connection where I signed in one month later, Dec 2015.

This is so beautiful, Manu. I love the complexity of the design. You definitely have a talent, and I really think you should do more of these!

Thank you, Christine, you are too kind! I am still trying anything that inspires me and I haven't found my style yet. There's something that could be developed here.

My cookies are always in the wrong season though, sunflowers in February, the Fall forest in August, now this Spring cookie in Fall...

There's nothing wrong with being unique!

I'm totally going with sweet Prodigy you might as well put everyone else too Manu you do have your own style and that style is whatever you try because you always put a bit of you in it and that little bit is your style

I find it really beautiful and delicate and it seems really difficult to make

Thank you, Marimen. The difficult part was to make straight lines in the wings of the butterfly and to give a certain curve to the lines in the center of the flowers so that they look they had a dimension though they are flat. Then the fun part was adding details... very dangerous for me because it is very easy to go too far and add too much.

O my gosh!   Manu you even got the embroidered fillings on the flowers and leaves!  Stunning, absolutely stunning.          Pip

Thank you, Carol, thank you, pip. I am sure that it is easier with royal icing rather than with thread and needle!
