Here is an example of totaly trash cookies and Royal Icing! RI was too airy! When I wanted to pull the "hair" for the fur of the hamsters, all holes were created ... I will repeat this project again. There is a very lot to improve !!
😂 That meant Julia so similar! I was already annoyed! Instead of the holes fine hair should arise ... Thank you so so much dear Manu!!! ❤️ @Manu biscotti decorati
You are way too hard on yourself, @Icingsugarkeks! This is a delightful theme and design, and I must agree with many of the others who have already commented that until I took a very close look at your icing, I did not see holes or a "fail." All I saw was some great texture! When it comes to these challenges, the only way you can "fail" is by not reading or following the rules! Everything else is just a cookie "experiment," or learning experience. And my advice is that if you ever attempt this kind of hair/fur again, don't whip your icing so much and add a little corn syrup. Thank you for sharing this set with us!
Hello, @Bakerloo Station many thanks for your kind words! I am totally touched !!! I had thought for a very, very long time, if I post these hamsters at all ...! Thank you for the good advice with the corn syrup! I've never used that before. I made the icing for the hamsters with 3 small (real) eggwhite, 2 cups icing sugar, 1 pinch salt and 1 tsp citric acid (Salt and citric acid as a Weinstein substitutes). Then I stirred it at medium speed over 10 minutes. It gave a beautiful icing, but was very light, so too much fine air in it ... Therefore, probably the holes? It is also very badly dried! With your advice I would like to try the hamster again. Thank you so much for your very nice comment !! I really appreciate it !!!!!
