This set was based on a tutorial from Lizy B. I changed it up and used Julia Usher's Stencils to add a flare for my husbands Father's Day surprise because he loves the beach, ocean and sailing.

What a clever gift idea, and I love the use of my stencil! Great job!

Thank you. I just love all of your Stencils, they are so versatile, and are helping me get back into the swing of making cookies again after being gone so long. I have been wanting to make this tie for some time but knew it had to have more than just stripes on it! When I saw your stencil I knew it was perfect. Then I couldn't find a tie gift box anywhere, I gave up this year and took the lid/bottom from a shirt box and folded and cut it to make a gift box that fit the tie. He loved it!

So great to hear all of this. BTW, how long/big was the tie? Life-size?

Yes pretty close to life size, the box is about 15" x 4" and the tie template about 14" x 3.5" (at the widest part. I actually broke the tie after icing it and had to glue it back together. I read somewhere that fixing mistakes was part of the process, so true for me. Next time I think I need to roll the dough thicker, as It was only at about 1/4" when rolled, maybe 1/2" would hold up to the icing better and cut two for errors. I also cut a cardboard template to rest the cookie on after it broke to make moving it in and out of the box easier. I'm learning.

Wow - you would never know it broke, so you concealed that marvelously!
