These were a good challenge for me to see what I need to work on, which is everything!  Line work for one thing. Ending and starting smooth lines are hard for me to do, but I’ll get there.  Layering lines was a bit dicey too.  But it was fun and I’ll just keep practicing! Thank you and Delorse for a really good challenge.

So pretty, and I love how you displayed them on the packages (so clever)! The starts and stops of your lines look pretty clean to me. What particular problem were you having with them? If we know more, maybe we can help troubleshoot.

The only issue I see is some cratering, especially in the lower right bow, which can make piping of smooth, even lines on top rather hard, because the lines will follow the crater and can end up looking wavy. I'm tagging @Delorse, as she may have some tips on this point. (I usually push my icing as thick as it can go and still settle smoothy, and then quick-dry the cookies near an open dehydrator. These steps prevent cratering ~90% of the time, but they are not foolproof.) Did you do any of these things?  I'm also tagging @Manu biscotti decorati so she can see your lovely entry! Very well done even if you felt you had some hardships!!

So well done, @Stevie Jean! You did an amazing job and I love how you staged the photo. Thanks for you participation!

I love your entry to the challenge, Stevie, and I totally agree with Julia on how cleverly they are displayed! Such a great idea!

Piping smooth lines are definitely a 'practice makes perfect'  skill and I think you are on your way to mastering it. If it helps, I kind of mentally mark a start and stop point before I pipe a line  and then sometimes even practice the movement  from point a to b above the cookie beforehand. Also, when it works, I like to start and stop beyond where I want my piping to begin and end. After a few seconds, I can just clean off the extra icing with a scribe or paintbrush. I think that helps with achieving  smooth and seamless lines.

I'm so glad you had fun and I so appreciate your participation! You did a fantastic job!🙂
