This is my first entry to this wonderful and important challenge. Since I wanted to experiment with almost bare cookies, I thought this challenge would fit perfectly with my attempt. Drawing a little inspiration from Julia's woodland themed box tutorial, I used a wood textured mat to emboss the cookie base, and a rose and daisy shaped molds to create the flowers. All parts are made with white dough extruded from the molds which has been hand painted with powder colors after cooling to enhance textures.
This is a great entry filled with fantastic textures and colors. Did you find it difficult to work with the molds?
Thank you so much Christine! At the beginning I had some difficulties in "calculating" the right amount of dough to fill the molds, but after some attempts I successfully managed, and I'm pretty satisfied with the results achieved. Now I'm working on a new entry for the challenge #21 (lace) 😊❤️

Looking good! A couple of things I may not have mentioned in my video: (1) To get the sharpest imprints on molded dough, I always re-press it into the mold mid-baking with an offset spatula; (2) I am careful to roll the dough smoothly so it has no "seams" before packing it into the molds; otherwise, the seams can show up in the finished piece. Just added tips for your decorating toolkit!

Thanks Julia! I will keep those tips in mind next time I use molds and textured mats. I really enjoyed working with them ❤️
