Hi, @D&S, These are stunning (!!) cookies, though it looks like the backgrounds weren't iced as continuous circles, but were iced in sections. Am I right? The challenge rules require fully flooded circular bases, as the idea was to get practice piping full circles. (See Rule #2 below.) I'll let @Bakerloo Station weigh in on what to do with your entry, as I'm not sure it qualifies per Rule #2. It certainly gets an "A+" for ingenuity with the circular designs on top!
and dear @Julia M. Usher, I'm sorry that I didn't fully understand the rules.
Do you mean that the doughnuts don't fit the Rule#2, right?? It's a pity... that I should withdraw from the challenge. Do I have to delete this post itself?? or could you switch my clip to a normal (not challenge-related) one??

I'm letting @Bakerloo Station evaluate this one and make the final decision. What we had intended by "fully flooded circular bases" is cookies where the entire round cookie circle is continuously flooded with royal icing, as in the examples show in the post. Not ones where the circle has been iced in sections, as yours appear to be. This is because the challenge was designed to give people practice with piping complete circles in one fell swoop.
In any event, we recognize that our wording could have been confusing to some, and the massive effort that went into this entry (it's WONDERFUL), so I am happy leaving it in the challenge clip set for all to see. I just don't know if it should be considered in the prize drawing because it doesn't follow the rules as intended. Again, not my call to make. But let's leave it in the clip set for people to see.

@D&S - I agree with all that Julia has said. I think that the rule, in conjunction with the photo examples, is clear. I have fewer problems with the donut-shaped cookies as I do with the round cookies that have been partitioned by your piped patterns and subsequently flooded. HOWEVER, since you clearly devoted a significant amount of time on this entry, I would like it to remain in the Practice Bakes Perfect clip set. It is a fabulous set of cookies in their own right, even if they are an example of what NOT to do! This is all part of the learning process, right?
Finally, I would like to say that there is PLENTY of time left in this challenge, and so, if you want to add more cookies to this set to bring it into compliance with the rules (like, adding a bunch of simpler (but not plain)!), fully flooded circles that compliment the rest of the set), I would LOVE to see that. As I said, this is a wonderful set of cookies, and I would hate to see you miss out on the chance to win the prize. If you have any additional questions about how you might bring this set into compliance, please message me!
