As we all know, inspiration can come from a variety of places . Two of these designs are inspired from shirts. I knew the minute I saw the shirts that they could be "cookie-fied" for 4th of July cookies! You can see pictures of the shirts below.
Of course, I can often find ways to incorporate some of Julia's wonderful stencil sets . Thank you Julia @Julia M. Usher for all your hard work in bringing these stencils to us!! I loved the back-to-school stencil set and thought it would fit well with the Declaration of Independence themed cookie. I just love the versatility of these stencils . The fuzzy/hazy airbrushing on the open book cookie is intentional to create a more distressed look (it took me awhile to get that down the way I wanted it to be ).
I do love this particular time of year as many of us celebrate the birth of the United States of America.
