I used four different stencils, two I bought ages ago and never used, and two I made myself for this challenge.
I used dry and extended powder colors and the dotted stencil to get the slight bokeh effect for the sky.
Mount Fuji is a two-part stencil. First I made the mountain shape with dry black, grey, and white powder colors, then I added the inner part and sponged the snowy peak with extended white color.
The sun was made with red dry powder color, the pagoda and torii were sponged with extended black gel color.
The flowers are layered, several colors of extended pink shades, stenciled with a sponge. And last stenciled with royal icing on top.
Very nice Leoni. I loved your step by step explanation. Not only it is like a mini tutorial but in my mind I could see the cookie coming to life. Having such detail explanation in the comments helps to understand better all the work behind a cookie and to appreciate it more.

Thanks for your kind words, Manu!
It is still astounding to me how much work can be caused by one cookie. Though in this case the cookie itself didn't take that long - the planning and figuring out how to achieve what I had in mind took a lot longer

I know, sometimes even us, cookiers, forget about this. I realized yesterday when a fellow cookier, talking about my mosque interior cookie, said "she maybe attempt one of this set herself" after her future trip to Iran. Hope she will give credit to my original idea and all the planning behind it.
It's wonderful Leonie and Thank you for the step by step - I read a bit, then looked, then read another bit, and looked et al - fascinating seeing the inner workings of another cookiers creation. Well done X
Question: when you say Extended, do you mean mixed wet with something? Just wanted to be sure. Thanks

I gave detailed explanations to answer any question Christine might have in advance. But I am glad you enjoyed them, too
Exactly, extended is mixed with vodka (in this case).

A fabulous addition to the challenge! I love this scene and the colors. The mini tutorial is terrific. Had you ever made your own stencils before? What did you think of that process?

It was the first time I made stencils and it was easier than I thought. But then, the motives were not that complicated and the material (salad bowl lids) was not too hard to cut.
How in the world did I miss commenting on this gorgeous cookie, Leoni!!! It's fabulous...I, too, loved the mini tutorial and really appreciated your creative approach to stenciling. Taught me to think outside the box more when it comes to that particular decorating skill. Your talents always amaze me .
