This was yet another fun challenge. Thank you Christina @Sweet Pro and Julia @Julia M. Usher.

Since it is Christmas I wanted to do something related to it. My theme is Gifts for Christmas. Everything in this is made of fondant with royal icing used only to glue the cookies.

The brick wall – fondant covered and textured with the brick embosser

The wooden floor – fondant with wood grain embosser

Curtains and swags- fondant swags

Christmas tree- frill cutter, bauble molds, ribbon using fondant extruder

Blue gift box – blue fondant cut out with five petal cutter and then the flower is cut in yellow and put back into the blue fondant and rolled

Orange and purple gift – weaving with fondant

Red white striped gift box – red, white and green paste was rolled then stacked and cut slices.

Molded teddy bear with blanket made using imprinted silicone mat

Christmas tree skirt – frilling and using the fondant stitching wheel to make sewing lines

Flower pots – Basket weave silicone imprint, silicone flower mold and leaf is used

Green circle gift – fondant pleats individually placed around the circle stacked cookie. With a fondant rose made with strips.

Burgundy gift – I covered a circle cookie and used a vegetable carving tool with a v shaped edge to imprint the shapes. Then placed a fondant snowflake on it.

The wreath was covered with fondant leaves. Tiny rolled fondant balls colored then dusted with silver petal dust.

Santa’s cookie platter was covered in white fondant and the edge crimped using the fondant crimping tool. I found these tiniest cookie cutters to cut the fondant to look like cookies.

Wow! There was certainly a lot of thought and effort put into this entry. Were there any techniques that you tried for the first time? What was the most challenging part? Is there one decoration (or more) that you are most proud of?

Thank you Christine @Sweet Prodigy. Molding the bear was a first time for me. Weaving fondant and the striped fondant technique were first time I did these. During my close up interview with Julia @Julia M. Usher she brought up the suggestion about using vegetable carving tools for cookies, and that is how I incorporated it into the burgundy cookie. The challenging technique was the frill on the Christmas tree and the tree skirt. This is a technique I had done years ago, but I wish I had got more movement on the frills. Seems flatter to me.

I really love how the pleats on the green gift, swags and curtain turned out. This was a technique I had known but this challenge helped me put into practice.

I like the pleats too, although there are several techniques and designs you've used that are also impressive. The tree looks fantastic. The layered and alternating shades of green do a great job of creating depth. Thank you for all of that information.
