I did not realize how changing the direction of a piping tip or using a paintbrush to change the pattern of a piped design is so effective until I saw it in this challenge by Noriko @mintlemonade (cookie crumbs). Her work is so dainty.

For these heart cookies:

Top left – I used the petal tip 649 to pipe petals and using a damp brushed dragged it in.

Top right – I used a petal tip and piped Noriko’s pattern

Bottom left – I used tip 81 and piped at an angle like I would pipe a ruffle

Bottom right – I piped stars (star tip) and dragged it in with a brush.

The roses are made using the toothpick method. Thank you Julia @Julia M. Usher, Manu @Manu biscotti decorati and Noriko @mintlemonade (cookie crumbs) for another great challenge.

Wow,  Zeena!! These hearts are gorgeous. Your piping is great and the vibrant orange is super! Congratulations ♥️

Thank you Heather @Heather Bruce Sosa. I used this color rather than working on the usual pink or red.

These are simply gorgeous @Zeena!! I love the borders you used . You did an awesome job of incorporating some of Noriko's @mintlemonade (cookie crumbs) border techniques!! She's truly an amazing artist . As always, your work is incredibly well done my dear, dear friend ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...

These are gorgeous @Zeena ! I’m so glad you joined the challenge❤️ All the ruffles you did are great but the roses are so pretty too!

What a lovely first entry @Zeena! These cookies are really nice and I love the color combination you picked, so vibrant and elegant at the same time. Great execution of the two kind of borders featured and taught by Noriko @mintlemonade (cookie crumbs) in her demo.  I Really loved your creative spin for the other two borders of your own!
Thanks as always for your participation!
