I LOVE these! Okay.....so HOW did you get the holes to stay open??? I tried this last night by poking holes prior to baking, which then sort of closed up during baking. Then I tried to "reopen" them while the cookies were still warm, which just resulted in a lot of crumbly mess. I want to make a "curtain" of cookies strung on licorice vines.
These were THICK cookies. I used a skewer to make the original hole, prior to baking. Then, while they were cooling (maybe about 3 mins after pulling them out), I went thru with the skewer again. Maybe they were too cooled when you were reopening? Maybe bake for about a minute less?? Not sure...but let me know how the second attempt goes!
