Lit Girl Cookies

I made another set of cookies outside my normal wheelhouse. These were for my 14-year-old niece. When I asked her for a preferred theme, I anticipated something like fashion, animals or sport (she plays soccer). Her response however was “Crime & Punishment and Sherlock Holmes”. While I have no desire to put a damper on literature, I also had absolutely no intention of slogging through Dostoyevsky again to extract symbolism.  So, I did the best I could with some gentle reminders from Wikipedia. The cookies are certainly bleaker than I would have preferred! But, the whole thing just really cracked me up.  I’ll have to save my fancy fashion cookies for another day.

Thanks Julia.  It doesn't always feel like it but there ARE limits to what I am willing to do for loved ones.  Slogging through Dostoyevsky again is one of them!😂
