Only Royal Icing | Manu
I felt I needed to practice with RI consistencies and light colors as lately I only handpainted my cookies or decorated them with different media... it hasn't been so easy

Design and sources of inspiration:
"Flowers wet-on-wet" on the round cookie, see video by SimplySweetbyHoneybee:

"Dots wet-on-wet" on the square cookie it is a design I saw a lot on Christmas packet cookies, one name for all: Sweetsugarbelle
Dots on the flowers around the center part: I saw green dots on a daisy cookie, "surfing the internet" at the beginning of last year. I was catched by the contrast between the green dots and the white and yellow of the daisy, so I have this design printed on my mind. At the end of last year watching  Julia M Usher's video tutorial helped me to master techniques. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NIAtYgOsEE0

The colors are very beautiful. I am not good at mixing pastel color, they always get more intense than I plan to...

Thank you,Leoni. Exactly, the colors develop... and not only the dark colors. Anyway, I had "to go back" and exercise with consistencies, coloring and basic techniques.... still not able to pipe a RI rose

So soft and lovely

Thank you Teri, basic and simple set, but I needed to practice . I thought of you while taking pics and trying to "capture" the real colors of the cookies!

They turned out very elegant, Manu! Those small dots around the center really gives them that special extra. Love them!

Thank you, Sonja, very simple.

I love that design as well. I saw it on a white daisy with the yellow centre and the dots were green. There was also a tiny ladybug on one of the petals.

So pretty!! Love the designs

Thank you Carol. These are "old" designs, the basic techniques for a beginner. Now I added the sources of inspiration in the first comment.

What a beautiful assortment of cookies. The colors are perfect and your presentation is really beautiful. You mention that these are beginner techniques, but they are so beautiful and elegant.

Thank you, Joanie, you are always kind.

I said "beginner techniques" because I think these are the foundation of cookie decorating. There is flooding, outlining, wet-on-wet, RI (royal icing) coloring. I also tried to pipe a grid on a couple of cookies. Everything has do with different RI consistencies, the key of cookie decorating. I am a beginner (Nov 15), and I haven't decorated a set with RI since January. As I tried to pipe RI roses for the challenge #16, I realized I didn't have enough practice with RI consistencies and with the piping bag as I had during Christmas, when I was practicing everyday. That's why I decided to make this set, to review foundation.
