Great job using the isomalt for the eyes, nose and mouth. You were able to get such small amounts into those spaces. Looks great .  I, too, have been playing around with some isomalt and have experienced so many challenges in working with the medium (it's not "Carol friendly" ha ha). Not that I'll give up...have another idea in mind but don't know if it'll make the challenge deadline .

I did make it during the time of the challenge with the idea of using it for both.  It’s an idea I had been playing with for a while and when the challenge was announced I made the decision to make it.  I just sat on it before entering.

The cookie is 6.5 inches wide.  I bought it years ago and when I bought isomalt nibs I thought about it, but never made it.  I found some small measuring cups that are flexible plastic and safe in the microwave.  Since isomalt nibs can be reused, I have one container for each color and I keep them in individual ziplock bags until needed.

This is a terrific (and very seasonal) use of isomalt! Tell me, how did you go about making the isomalt orange? What coloring did you use?

I use isomalt nibs and i had orange ones.  I like using isomalt nibs because they are easy and reusable.  I warm them in the microwave and pour.  What I don’t use I save for next time.  I found small, flexible, microwave safe measuring cups with a spout.  I have a measuring cup for every color and after they cool I put them in separate ziploc bags.  It is also easy to color isomalt nibs.
