Relaxation with Moroccan Roses

I chose Morocco, the reason is because I have never met a person from Morocco in my life and I did not have the slightest idea of it.  Oh, I know two  things!  one is Moroccan Roses because they are in body cream and tagine pots

Tagine pots are well known in Japan but I have never tasted Moroccan dishes, neither I have the pot.  Instead of imagining their tastes of dishes, I wanted to express something with what I saw while I was studying Morocco. Their designs, patterns and colors are very peculiar.  It took really long for me to make my cookies because of our humid weather, it was very hard to make the parts of my cookies this time.   Finally I could make those and now I think I would like to go and see the real Morocco someday.

Let me write about my project.

I made a bathtub, a tiled bathmat and 4 luxurious windows of the bathroom.  I imagined if the light comes in through the glass of windows, that must be beautiful and very relaxing.

What inspired me are:

1. Blue City (blue walls) of  Chefchaouen

2. Desert and camel

3. Pink City of Marrakech

4. Green which is used a lot for their designs

1~4 Those made me make the frames of windows.  I wanted express clay walls with four colors.

brown

5. The patterns and colors of Moroccan leather slippers, dishes, lamps and cushions

To express those, I used SugarVeil for the design of windows and I used the colors I saw a lot while I tried to know Morocco

6.Moroccan Roses

I put roses on bathtub (wet-on-wet)

7. Tagine which is Moroccan pot, of which shape is circular cone

I made the feet of bathtub circular cone, just like tagine pot

8. The town Fez, dye compounds of leather

I made tiled bathmat

 How I made my cookies

1.  Windows

The frame is the ring shaped cookies.

I painted inside the cookies with gold color.

With thick consistency icing and pallet knife, I decorated the window frames to show clay walls.

@SugarVeil I dusted with gold colors after they dried completely.

I pored Isomalt into the cookies, after they are hardened I placed the gold colored SugarVeil then decorated with colored icing.

 2. Bathtub

Roses on bathtub is wet-on-wet

The decoration is made of gum paste (like fondant) and colored with gold.

parts I used one from the three.

3. Bathmat

I spread colored icing on acetate.  After they dried completely, I cracked them with my fingers as the size I like.  I flipped them over to use the flat surface faces up to show they are like tiles.

WOW, Ryoko! I love everything about this project! You did a marveous job!!!

Hi Zara, thank you. The weather here is extremely bad to decorate cookies right now.  I made lots of mistakes and redid many times.   But it was fun to learn about Morocco.

Wow.  I love all of it but the bathtub really caught my eye.  Now that I read your post those windows are so clever.

Cindy, thank you for your comment and thank you for reading what I wrote.

So beautiful, Ryoko! The stained glasses, made with SugarVeil lace filled with different colors of royal icing, reminds me of the islamic geometry of their mosaics.

Right Manu, geometry!  that's what I wanted to make but the space was so small for me and I was afraid I could make my original geometry designs.  So I decided to use SugarVeil lace.   It is very difficult to handle SugarVeil while it is very humid (too humid), but that's what I could find out this time.   (I am getting clever!

What a wonderful set dear Ryoko!!! I absolutely love the "windows" with all the attention to detail. Such beautiful work @Ryoko ~Cookie Ave. ❤️❤️

The bathtub is fabulous!!!

Thank you, Carol, you are always so nice.    Just to imagine the lights through the windows makes me really happy when it is incredible hot and humid here in Japan.

Ryoko, I’m speechless! Each piece is just so beautiful. That work you’ve done with those windows, fighting against your humidity, with lovely colours and minute shapes is amazing! Congratulations 👏👏💕

Very nice work, Ryoko! I must say that I am in love with those "Windows!" They are very beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Christine!  Imagining lights through those windows, sweet smells of roses, right temperature of warm water in bathtub and cold drink in my hand....  it is too hot and humid here and I cannot think anything but "relax and doing nothing"

I think this is a brilliant use of SugarVeil lace and isomalt! Your inclusion of different types of stone and tile in the windows and then flooring is very Moroccan. I cannot say enough about your included tutorial here, and how very impressive, detailed, and helpful it is.  It really gave me an appreciation for how much work went into this set of six cookies. Last, but not least, I will tell you to take a break from cookies during this horrible spell of weather and make an actual tagine to eat!  You can make them in any pot, not just a clay tagine.  They are absolutely delish!

😊 Thank you.  I am taking a break now and I am going to meet a great cookier soon💕.    Does this mean I am taking a real break???
