Winn - you're lucky I saw your email here. I don't get notified about every post on the site, and wouldn't think to look under someone else's photo for a message to me. If you need to reach me about technical issues, please email me directly or send me a Dialog on the site. If you're able to comment on the site as you just did, then your email address has been verified. You couldn't comment here otherwise. I just checked and your email address is verified. So you should be able to access all areas of the site.
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
