I’ve been admiring @Manu biscotti decorati for a very long time that I knew I had to get on this challenge! I’m so excited to try her technique of which I found very challenging! lol!

I learned it big time not to underestimate stenciling. I broke at least a half dozen of flowers during the process and one of the plastic transfer flipped right on my face as soon as I took the tapes off my rolling pin and broke more petals.

but I did it! I made a few of stenciled flowers, incorporated mini sunflowers onto the flowers and sealed them with the wax seal. The sunflowers are icing transfer while the leaves and the flowers’ stem are piped on.

I used smart sheet from Icing Images for the ribbon. I colored it using edible pen.

I chose the concrete technique for the background. After I flood the cookie, I immediately covered the surface with a wrinkled parchment paper and left it set overnight prior working on the flowers.

Thank you Manu, Evelyn and Julia. It’s been a fun experience.❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing your bright creation and lessons learned! What a treat to be able to see how this call-to-challenge was brought to life through your dedicated work!  You are right; this one is quite the challenge on several fronts; so much so that I gave in to one of my early failures and abandoned the project.   Keep up the good work @Ira V. Taylor!

Thank you so much for your kind words.😊

Love it, Ira - especially the different stenciling colors used on the wax seal, and also the textured background, which works really well with the texture of the stenciled petals. I'm tagging @Manu biscotti decorati again, so she's sure to see your entry quickly. She'll love it too! Thanks for entering!

Thank you so much. I appreciate it.🥰

Oooohhhh! This is lovely, Ira! I like everything about this cookie 🤗

Yes, it takes a little bit of patience to get the acetate off the rolling pin, especially if you are using a thick acetate. In retrospective I think I should have explain better in the video to remove only one of the two tapes that kept the acetate in place, and leave the other one. Then I just bent the acetate enough to make the contoured transfer pop! I am glad you shared what challenged you during the process.

Thank you so much for participating 💙

Oh no, @EAC! So sorry to hear that! I wish you shared all the difficulties you encountered in the comments to the blog post, so I could have helped you out.
Anyway, I am here to help if you would like to try my 3-D royal icing flowers using the stenciled method or the piping method. Even if the challenge will close soon I am still available on Cookie Connection and it will be my pleasure to see everyone being successful. 💙

I did learn how pop them off the plastic the way you explained it. It was actually by accident when I slowly take one side off and some of the petals fell pretty easy once they completely dry and only need to bend the acetate a little. I do need to adjust the thickness next time.

Thank you so much for sharing this technique.🥰

Stunning! The texture really makes this cookie stand out. I love the effect of texture in cookie decorating and you've used it beautifully here @Ira V. Taylor. Awesome flowers, too. Love it! ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...
