I know, I know, it's a cake. At least it's a sugar cookie cake. Because you don't really know me, you wouldn't know this. But I am not very good at frosting a cake, but I keep trying. Anyone that has any practice at getting the icing completely smooth and can give me a good tip, please do I welcome it. Hope you enjoy the cake.

What do you mean re: "sugar cookie cake"? Are the layers actually cookies that you've completely iced over? Or are the cookies incorporated in some other way? Just curious.
Ha,ha....I was about to ask the same question Julie asked? What makes this a sugar cookie cake? It's beautiful. Is that cranberries on top and bottom rim?
I believe your cake si beautiful, rustic. But if you want to learn how to smooht your cakes you need a spatula and a glass of warm wáter. Put the spatula in the wáter, dry it in a towell and apply lighty on your cake. You can see many videos that shows you this in web. Craftsy has clases and wilton too. use the Originally Posted by Kimberlie:

There is a delicious Sugar Cookie Daisy Cake online and a Sugar Cookie Vanilla Cake Recipe - Both sound good but neither is as beautiful as Kimberlie's!
Not sure why they named it a sugar cookie cake but it does taste like one. It's from Sandra Lee, magazine Nov/Dec 2013 issue and actually called a Christmas Sugar Cookie Cake. Hence the rosemary and currant sugared decorations. Glad I was able to create some interest. I've taken that Wilton class, and did use warm water and spatula. I probably make too many cookies, lol and need to practice on my cakes a lot more. I'll keep trying, but I love the cookies too much . Not really a from scratch cake, since everything Sandra Lee makes is semi-homemade. I couldn't resist making it when I saw it.

What a great idea though, four giant size cookies used as the layers of the cake, I like it!
