My Easter Bunny is made from 8 cookies and is approximately 9 inches tall.

Wonderful and very impressive work, Rae! And congrats on such a great first post! (BTW, I hope you're planning to enter the 3-D category of my cookie art competition; the rules can be accessed through a widget on the right of this site! )

Can you provide a little more info about how this beauty was made? For instance, how did you shape the cookies? What type of dough did you use? Which parts are painted (the eyes, inner ears, fur, other??)? How were his incredible ears made and attached? What challenges, if any, did you encounter along the way? I'm sure our members would love to learn more about this accomplishment!

Also, just a reminder to give your images descriptive main titles (not the default image name from your camera). Your posts will just be more searachable/SEO-friendly this way. Below is a screenshot of what you had, and you can see how I modified it for you this time by looking at the current post title (I just overwrote the file name in the "Title" field with the actual title that you had in the "Caption" field). TIA!

This was made for the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The schedule said we had to decorate either 6 or 8 cookies. This was made with construction gingerbread by moulding over a pyrex bowl for the torso, over a domed tins for the head, over a silicone mould for the egg and over shaped foil for the ears and paw. All items are attached with isomalt which set hard quickly then secured with thick royal icing. I painted white royal icing over the entire bunny then used an oral swab to add texture (because I hate ruining my brushes by pounding icing). It was then all handpainted with diluted gel colours and Sweet Sticks Edibleart paints. The top was piped with a petal tip. The flowers were made with royal icing transfers and put together to put around the neckline.

My main issue is building 3D in humidity, but now I have a dehumidifier in the room I decorate in I can get it down from 90% to 40% which stops it from falling apart. The next issue is transportation in humidity, and I have waterproof containers now to transport. Transportation in humidity is the limiting factor in building height for me.

Thanks for ALL of this info - truly a great project. I hope you won a prize at the show!

So amazing @Rae Dare-Smith!!! What a creative, unique idea. I love 3D cookie designs and yours is simply wonderful. I love the flowers around the bunny's neck. The ears!!! They're awesome. I love the size that really makes your bunny come to life. Great work. Your texturing is the perfect touch to simulate a real bunny. And the eyes are just so fun. Really beautiful work ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...

They likely are, I have watched a lot of her fabulous work, I’m sure some ideas have imprinted.

Such a lovely project!
Yes, that daisies definitely looked familiar at first glance 😄

Nice to see them as a necklace and in pink, the perfect touch!
